Sail-gating Party! Hebrews 10:23-24

I hope you are curious! What is this all about?

This is my daughter Emily! She knows how fun it is to cheer for Auburn… War Eagle!

We had a sail-gating party in our Women’s Bible Study, because of the 2 verses that we studied in our homework. Hebrews 10:23-24 tells us that:

We are to hold fast  to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

and…………….

We are to  be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,  not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

So – we did what the University of Tennessee Vol Navy does – and has been doing since 1962 … not staying away from their meetings! They take their boats and tailgate to the football stadium as they cruise down the Tennessee River, supporting their team!

I think of tailgating as fun gatherings, reunions, times of anticipation of what is about to come, and games. We had some tailgating festivities as we motivated each other to love, and good works, and encouraged each other with truths and hope from God’s word.

There were meaningful, personal conversations. Connections between sisters in Christ. Getting to know each other better. Sharing prayer requests and areas of spiritual growth. Fun, games, and a focus on eternity. Good stuff!!

At many tailgating parties, you find people reminiscing about exciting and surprising moments, so after a little party time, and since we were SAILGATING, I  shared the true story of the time I was shipwrecked and how it was a time of holding fast to the confession of my hope.

**my story starts at about the 2:45 minute mark on the video**
