Luke 24:1-11 Up from the Grave!

Oh joy! What a glorious morning when the women found the empty tomb!

But also – what a surprise. They went in grief, carrying the normal burial spices. They wondered how they would move the heavy stone away from the entrance to the tomb. When they arrived, the stone was already moved. How strange. They went inside.

There was NO BODY there! Luke 24:4 tells us that they were greatly perplexed about this!

And then…. brightness! Two men in dazzling clothes – angels – gave them the good news: Why do you seek the Living One among the dead? He is not here, but is RISEN!

I would love to hear how the angels expressed this amazing, beautiful, world-changing announcement!

The key instruction from the angels was to remember Jesus’ words to them: “Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, “saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ” Luke 24:6-7

The women did remember. And they believed the angels report. They believed that the tomb was empty because Jesus rose up from the grave. They didn’t go ask others if they had moved His body. They went directly to the disciples and told them the amazing news!

What inexpressible joy we have now – even though we haven’t seen the empty tomb or Jesus in person. We know who He is and what He did because we remember His words and all the words given to us by the prophets of the Lord.

In my video, I’ll remind you of Jesus’ words and the prophecies that God gave us so that we would know His plan and promises.
