The letters to the Thessalonians don’t mention any Thessalonians by name, but Luke knew them and wrote about a few special friends from Thessalonica. Jason, Aristarchus and Secundus were dear to Paul and traveled with him. They also were willing to endure suffering for the sake of their love for the Lord, their love of the gospel, and their love for Paul.
I’ll highlight a few things about Thessalonica and these men in my video.
There is no powerpoint. I showed 2 videos in my class. Here’s the link for the DRIVE THRU HISTORY video.
Here’s the link for THE BIBLE PROJECT video, where the book of 1st Thessalonians is illustrated and explained. (By the way, when this video explains 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, they don’t mention the idea of rapture. I will be teaching that this passage refers to the imminent return of Jesus in the air for Christians, who will be caught away and taken to heaven- raptured – and then Jesus will come to the earth to reign as king after earth experiences 7 years of tribulation.)
Is it preferable to order your book via Amazon or from you?
