NKJ 1 Thessalonians 4:1 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
What does Paul ask and encourage the Thessalonians to do in the verses above?
God’s will for us is our sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:3). And that’s what I’ll concentrate on in the following talk!
Friberg’s Greek Lexicon defines sanctification (hagiosmos) as: the careful moral behavior that expresses one’s dedication to God pure way of life, upright behavior, holy living.
We pursue sanctification (holiness) by pursuing the One who is holy.
