Is it about the bread?

I’ve been studying Matthew 14 and 15 recently. Jesus fed 5000 with just a few loaves of bread. Shortly afterwards, the Pharisees wanted to know why the disciples didn’t wash their hands before eating bread. Then Jesus told the Canaanite woman that you don’t give “the children’s bread to the dogs.”  Next thing you know, there are crowds of hungry people and the disciples are wondering where to get bread for everyone. When the disciples rowed their boat to the other side of the lake, they said – uh-oh, we forgot the bread! (my paraphrase, obviously)

Guess what! It was NEVER about the bread. Every time, it was about faith. It was about the heart. It was about needing Jesus and trusting Him to meet your needs.
