Jesus is superior! To angels. To animals. To trees. To all of His creation… and not just because He created everything, but because – He is God the Son.
The first chapter of Hebrews brings attention to the exalted, incomprehensible identity of Jesus Christ. A few descriptions of Jesus are that He is heir, begotten, and firstborn.
These terms might be surprising because if we aren’t careful, we will think that they indicate something that they don’t. Tune in to my video below where I briefly explain the eternal existance of Jesus – as Pre-incarnate Christ, Incarnate Christ, and Glorified Christ. These will be the foundation upon which we will understand the terms – heir, begotten, and firstborn.
