The book of Hebrews points its readers toward the future. Toward the plan of God – which is to gather all His family together in Heaven, fulfill all His promises, and give us the happy ever after that we are all longing for.
This book exhorts us to go on to maturity, to go on to perfection… to completion… which will come about by the work of God in our lives as He is transforming us into the image of His Son.
Hebrews 6:10-12 For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints — and you continue to serve them. Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope so that you won’t become lazy, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.
This statement keeps us looking forward to what God will do when we persevere, obey, and faithfully, diligently press on to maturity. He will not forget our work and labor of love.
He will reward us!
I referred to the judgment seat of Christ many times last week. This is the place where Christians will stand before Jesus and be judged and rewarded. I want to give you more details about that today!
