2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 – Comforting Encouragement

What was Paul’s purpose in writing to the Thessalonians? He commended them for their testimony of works of faith and labors of love. He clarified some concerns about the return of Christ and the Day of the Lord. He exhorted them to participate in the process of sanctification. He shared updates on his own desires to see them.

And through all of his comments, Paul made it clear that he knew his dear Thessalonians were suffering persecution for sake of Christ.

How did Paul encourage his dear friends? He emphasized the best thing we have in all of eternity. Salvation.

It is so good to think about what the Lord has done for us! He chose us from the beginning for salvation! We were rescued from darkness and danger and pain and sin and death! And we were saved to receive blessings and to give glory to God.

2nd Thessalonians 2:13-17 brings attention to our great salvation, and Paul reminds us of this to comfort and encourage us.
