The Revelation of Jesus Christ – a prophecy

I am excited about teaching through the book of Revelation!

When Jesus gave this revelation to John, He promised that it would be a blessing to anyone who reads it, hears it, and keeps its words:

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Revelation is a book of blessing! It points us to the victorious return of Jesus Christ, our Savior, the King of Kings. It’s a book of prophecy, because it tells us of things to come. It’s a book of promise, because when God says He will do something, He WILL do it! It’s a book of hope, because we are waiting to see God’s promises fulfilled when Jesus returns, and then when God makes all things new.

I have 2 introductory lecture videos below. In the first, I’ll talk about the rollercoaster ride of Revelation and the way that we approach the interpretation of this book.

In the 2nd lecture video, I’ll present an overview of the timeline of the events that are described in this book, then I’ll conclude with the beautiful way that God has arranged Revelation. I like to think of it as God’s Magnum Opus.

I will be posting videos, powerpoint slides and handouts from Sep 2025 through March 2026.

In my classroom at church, I’ll display the posters below each week so that we can keep the ‘big picture’ of the timeline and events of Revelation in mind. (There’s a link for a handout of this timeline below – it is formatted to be printed on 11 x 17 paper.)

PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE 2 VIDEOS BELOW FOR THE INTRODUCTION – PART 1 AND PART 2, which will correspond to the handout below: God’s Magnum Opus, front side: part 1, back side: part 2
