We’ve already seen that Ezekiel’s call to be a prophet would require him to be fearless and have a hard head – so that he could speak the difficult message of coming judgment to the rebellious house of Israel.
In chapters 4 and 5, we see that Ezekiel must communicate the Lord’s message of judgment through “sign-acts.” Dramatizations. Role-playing. The visual sermons from Ezekiel were not only to demonstrate that judgment was coming, but they were to demonstrate how that judgment would come.
Read Ezekiel 4 and 5, and compare it with 2 Kings 25:1-3.
You’ll see the actions demonstrated in the video! And then I’ll consider what we must remember about our God who commands such strange actions and who carries out such harsh judgment.
